Perth Multicultural HealthLink Programme

PMHL is a joint intiative between

Arche Health Limited and Multicultural Futures.

Perth Multicultural HealthLink (PMHL) programme is a dedicated health navigation service designed to enhance primary healthcare access for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) communities across Perth.

The service mission is to help clients overcome complex systemic barriers such as language, low health literacy, and unfamiliarity with the Australian healthcare system that often prevent multicultural individuals from receiving the right care at the right time.

What We Do

The PMHL multicultural health navigation programme acts as a vital link between multicultural community members and essential health services through a person-centred, place-based response. Our core support services include:

Care Navigation

We provide practical, hands-on assistance to identify local General Practices (GPs) and other services, facilitate "warm referrals," and assist with appointment bookings.

Health Literacy Support

We empower you with information on your healthcare access, including how to obtain a Medicare card, how Medicare works, and how to advocate for your own health needs.

Interpreter Support

We ensure language is not a barrier by supporting the use of the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) and providing access to translated resources.

Provider Support

We work with GPs and other health professionals to support cultural competency in primary healthcare and service delivery for multicultural patients.

Eligibility

We help adult individuals and families from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) backgrounds living in Perth.

The programme is built on a foundation of authentic co-design. We work closely with community champions and cultural leaders to ensure our services are culturally safe and deeply rooted in the trust and lived experiences of the people we serve.

All services are provided Free at no cost to eligible individuals.
