Profile and expertise – Marcia Costello has extensive experience as a Clinical Psychologist who has practised across WA for many years in a range of roles within government, private practice and corporate settings. She is registered with AHPRA as a Clinical Psychologist and she is an approved Supervisor for APHRA.
Marcia works with range of clients seeking her assistance by understanding the strengths the person has to contribute to their own healing, with new insights. She specializes in the capacity to engage a wide range of people.
The core therapeutic modalities she uses include CBT, DBT. ACT, Attachment therapies and Narrative and psychodynamic approaches. In addition, Marcia uses mindfulness, metaphors and narrative therapies, for self-care. She has training and accreditation in couple and family therapy approaches. She sees clients with complex mental health presentations, FIFO, Grief & Loss, Chronic Pain (Complex), Cognitive challenges / disability, Autism spectrum functionality, Self-harm /self-loathing /underlying fear of helplessness and/or disconnection, Gambling addiction, Porn & Objectified Sexual Encounters, Couple, Trauma, Elder clients – Males / Females, Veteran’s and families, Workers’ Comp & work adjustment, Bullying and Complex PTSD.
Marcia is skilled in best practice treatment approaches for anxiety, depression, PND, character disorders and workers’ compensation and associated reports to meet professional and legal standards. She has an interest and skills in trauma treatment approaches which include: EMDR, Narrative Therapies and Somatic Therapies.
